New Wii expected 2011?

There have been numerous articles circulating as of late on the next major release of the Nintendo console that. The potentially exciting news, the rumors proved to be true, that the next iteration of the Wii is released next year. Vikki Blacke, small Games website GirlGamersSuck, claiming to have information on what is being dubbed the Wii 2, by someone who works at Nintendo. A big claim, and one many hope is true.

So, what can we expect from this new improved console?

The only confirmation, if the source is reliable, a Blu-ray drive looks likely, not only because they are now becoming more widely used, but also as a way to reduce piracy. This integration then proposes that exits in 1080p, full HD, for those who are not familiar with the term it will be possible; no other details about what is inside the processing and graphics power was given. The only other evidence was that the buyer would be able to trade in their old Wii consoles for money to disable the new which, although this is becoming the norm today anyway.

Before you get your hopes too high, however, something like MaxConsole reported in October last year. They also claimed to have received information from a Nintendo source, which confirmed a release Q3 2010. They may have been correct, and no video game in Wii 2 maybe down delays due to technical issues, but I'll consider this latest news when Nintendo release an official statement.

A statement may be only a few months before but worldwide president Satoru Iwata informed share holders at a company meets this development on a new Wii console took place, but said that talking products as close as possible to a release date would be more surprising.Yes it would, and that backs up what was also given in the report MaxConsole. They went on to say that Nintendo is going to make a global statement on the next Wii, one month before they are placed, which would give them a plenty of publicity. So, choose what to believe.

A new console is desperately needed for Nintendo, but they can have a monopoly on casual gamers, but they are killed by Sony and Microsoft when it comes to hardcore games. New Wii need an extensive facelift on what is currently available; the addition of a Blu-ray player and HD graphics will not be enough to win all the back and with even more rumors that a PS4 also will be ready for release in 2011, Nintendo will need to future proof their next console so that, in what will be the eighth generation, they will not be lagging miles when it comes to console power and performance.
