Way back in October 2009 announced Epic Mickey is one of Disney's latest game titles and is exclusively for the Wii in 2010.
While the prospect of a Disney games can do some Wii console as a major potential is to be billed owner's suck with boredom, Epic Mickey, with Nintendo exclusivity downgraded hopefully means a well-designed end product, rather than another PS360 port.
Described as a platformer/action RPG, players take the role of "Mi Mo" as he is sucked in Cartoon Wasteland, the home of Disney's long forgotten cartoon creations, lead by Oswald the lucky Rabbit. you must then run the game world in an attempt to win the trust and together Oswalds save the land from "Phantom blot" and do it at home. While sounding like a fairly routine story line, interesting game play elements and a very promising art style makes it very exciting prospects.
Game borrows from many a RPG, your actions have a "karma"-esque effect on your character and their reputation within the game, which in turn affects your appearance. With three possible modes available (Hero, neutral or Scrapper) helps your choice, interactions and even gaming style all decide which category your character falls in. armed with a "magic paintbrush", Mickey can paint or delete certain objects, landscapes, etc, that have an effect on your gutsy status, and more everything can reveal new objects stashes and routes to the next area.
Rather than be a modern day interpretation of Disney cartoons, the game is very much a tribute to the beginning of the company, with a very special art style and large stylish character models; although the graphical capabilities of the Wii Forte, are Visual still started as one of the big draws of the game, which is not something that is often said in comments on this platform.
Hopefully some of the old dormant Wii-thus have made it this far in the review and will keep their eyes peeled and their ears perked for Epic Mickey. There is a buzz about it from the constantly declining players who still cares about the Wii, which once again are fervently hope it lives up to its potential.
